Our Philosophy
Genesis 2:18 states; “It is not good for man to be alone”. In 28 years of professional counseling ministry with marriages, pre marriages, and individuals of all ages, one thing in particular is clear – far too many feel deeply alone and indeed are alone, even in the midst of what is considered relationships.
These are people who love God and their families and are loved by God, their families, and others, yet seem to be relationally disconnected. Their hearts are not really known, but there is a deep longing for them to be known. We have witnessed people trying to sooth their loneliness through behaviors that are contrary to Godly living and healthy relationship. This has led to a cycle of increased loneliness, fear, shame, and guilt, which in turn, has caused division in the home and often times divorce. Just as saddening are the couples that while “married”, are emotionally divorced and continue to masquerade in church and the community. The impact on the next generation is immeasurable. It seems no one is immune; pastors, board members, ministry directors, business people, as well as stay at home moms.
Because distortions of the gospel’s truth have crept into marriages, we believe we need to do what Nehemiah 2:18 says; “Let us rise up and build.” So let us rise up and build and/or rebuild our families together. We believe we are to do the work that God has given and have faith in who He is.
Romans 10:9; “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
John 13:34-35; “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Acts 1:8; “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
2 Corinthians 13:14, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all".
The Father is the fountainhead of the Trinity, the Creator, the first cause. He is the primary thought, the concept of all that has been and will be created. Jesus said, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” (John 5:17).
The Son is the “Logos” or expression of God-the “only begotten” of the Father-and He Himself is God. Further, as God incarnate, He reveals the Father to us (John 14:9).
The Son of God is both the agent of creation and mankind’s only redeemer.
The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, proceeds from the Father and is worshiped and glorified together with the Father and the Son. He inspired the Scriptures, empowers God’s people, and convicts the world “of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” (John 16:8).
